Craftsy, the NBCUniversal Cable Universal Entertainment online hub for all things craft-related, has named Patrick Jager as its vice president of programming.

In the newly created role, Jager (pictured) will lead the Craftsy programming team, with responsibility for driving the strategy, vision, production and execution of their “hero shows” (fully funded digital videos), original series, integrations and front-of-paywall content.

Craftsy’s hiring of Jager is part of a larger strategy to become a recognizable brand among lifestyle education and entertainment media.

Most recently, Jager was the principal at the consulting firm he launched, Core Innovation Group, and prior to that, served as the SVP of development and production at High Noon Entertainment.

He has previously created programming for an array of networks, including MTV, AMC, VH1, A&E, Travel Channel, USA Network, HGTV, Food Network, GSN, Science Channel PBS, Animal Planet, Discovery and Reelz Channel. His list of credits include Behind the Music, Biography and Fixer Upper.
