Nina L. Diaz has been upped to the position of president of MTV, VH1 and Logo Group, effective immediately.

Diaz was most recently the EVP of programming and development of unscripted for MTV and VH1, and has spent many years leading VH1′s growth in the role of head of unscripted.

She will continue to report into Chris McCarthy, president of MTV, VH1 and Logo Group.

Since joining the network in 2014 as senior VP of East Coast production and development, Diaz has been involved with bringing Love and Hip Hop, Hip Hop Squares, Floribama Shore, Seista Key, Young and Pregnant to television screens. At MTV, she’s most recently helped ring in the biggest unscripted premiere in cable since 2012 with Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

Diaz is also dedicated to represent diverse stories and inclusion, with LGBTQ awareness in Love and Hip Hop and transgender visibility in Young and Pregnant. 

Diaz originally began her career at MTV where she had a hand in developing such series as My Super Sweet 16, Cribs and The Osbournes.

“Under Nina’s creative leadership, both MTV and VH1 have experienced phenomenal growth while attracting the youngest, most coveted audience in entertainment,” said McCarthy in a statement.
