Viacom International Media Networks-owned Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned the primetime series Shop Smart Save Money from Manchester – and Leeds-based prodco True North.

The three-part series, presented by Gaby Roslin and Fiona Phillips, will take audiences to a Yorkshire shopping center where the duo will offer up cash-saving tips and tricks to help make sense of the often confusing deals and offers available to the public. Every week the show challenges two competing savvy shoppers to save some serious cash on a family’s weekly shopping.

Roslin and Phillips will also be joined by consumer reporter Alexis Conran and money expert Andy Webb.

“We’re really excited to be making this entertaining and ambitious show for Channel 5,” said True North creative director Jessica Fowle, in a statement. “There’s a real demand for straight-talking, non-preachy consumer content and we can’t wait to bring it to the nation’s shoppers.”
