Following the lead of Talking Dead, AMC’s popular companion aftershow for The Walking Dead, the cable net is prepping an unscripted companion show for its upcoming dark comedy series, Dietland.

Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler premieres on June 4, following the debut of Dietland, and features the talk show host and actor discussing female-centric issues and topics explored by the scripted series with a range of guests.

Produced by Embassy Row, the company behind several companion aftershows including Talking Dead and Beyond Stranger Things, will feature celebrity fans of the scripted series as well its actors and producers, relevant journalists, writers, comedians and tastemakers.
Embassy Row’s Michael Davies and Amanda McPhillips are executive producers.

Dietland stars Joy Nash and Julianna Margulies, and is adapted from the acclaimed novel by Sarai Walker, which The Economist described as a “delightful, page-turning thriller that’s also a feminist revenge fantasy.”

“The issues of identity, sexuality, body image and self-actualization raised in Dietland are more urgent than ever. Our dynamic, rapidly evolving cultural climate demands a frank, no-holds-barred exchange about the ideas and questions raised by the book and series, and the real-world events and issues women face every day,” said Tyler in a statement.
