Viacom International Media Networks-owned  youth network MTV UK has commissioned in-house firm Elephant House Studios to produce a reality competition series that will take eight contestants back to their freshman year, living together in a student house.

Re-Freshers Week (5 x 60 minutes) will feature a cluster of 25 to 30-year-olds seeking to recapture the joys and freedom of freshman year at university. The group must compete in “Freshers-week” inspired tasks as presented by different guest judges. Only one individual, however, will walk away with a cash prize and the opportunity to refresh their own life.

A host for the series has yet to be announced.

The branded series, presented by Strongbow Apple Cider, will launch later this year on MTV UK, as well as across its VOD, social and linear channels.

Elephant House Studios’ Nic McNeilis is executive producer, Kate Amarnani is series producer, and Alex Pickering is line producer.

The deal was developed by Strongbow’s agency Starcom with Sky Media and Viacom, owners of MTV.
