UK pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a documentary from indie prodco Parable featuring Ant Middleton as he attempts to climb Mount Everest.

Produced in association with effervescent drink and vitamin tablet brand Berocca, Everest (w/t) follows Middleton (SAS: Who Dares Wins & Mutiny) on his life-long dream to climb the famous peak.

Directed by filmmaker and adventurer Ed Wardle and exec produced by Parable co-founder David Wise, the film tells the story of Middleton’s climb, starting from his arrival in Katamadu. It then follows the adventurer on his trek up to Base Camp through the stunning Khumbu Valley, and sees him explore the world of sherpas who work in this unforgiving environment.

Everest captures the beauty of the environment, but also the danger posed by the mountains as Middleton, Wardle and the sherpas get trapped in a sudden unforeseen storm near the summit.

Berocca and Parable have also captured 360-footage which will be released alongside the documentary. Parable is also behind C4′s first original VR commission, Grenfell: Our Home.

The project was commissioned for Channel 4 by Alf Lawrie.
