Streaming giant Netflix is preparing the digital broadcast premiere of Academy Award nominee Elaine McMillion Sheldon’s feature film debut, Recovery Boys.

The 90-minute film provides an intimate look at the lives of four West Virginian men in the heart of America’s opioid epidemic as they attempt to reenter society following years of drug abuse.

Recovery Boys, which held its world premiere at the 2018 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, follows the group as they battle to overcome addiction while navigating through the internal conflict of recovery.

Following rehab, they experience life’s trials and tribulations sober but struggle to find their place and purpose in society.

Executive producers on the doc include Jason Spingarn-Koff, Zana Lawrence and Lisa Nishimura. Producers are Kerrin Sheldon, Kristi Jacobson and Elaine McMillion Sheldon.

Recovery Boys debuts across Netflix on June 29.
