Kew Media Distribution sells content across CEE
Kew Media Distribution, part of Kew Media Group, has inked content deal across Central and Eastern Europe.
Anchoring the pan CEE deal, Viasat World has selected 100 Days to Victory, a documentary produced by Electric Pictures and Bristow Global Media Inc., which tells of the last 100 days of the First World War. The two-part special airs later this year on Viasat History.
TVP Poland, meanwhile, snapped up the documentary special Harry & Meghan: A Very Modern Romance from Odyssey Television, while Turkey’s Digiturk acquired Rolling Stone Magazine: Stories from the Edge (Jigsaw Productions and Nevision Limited, in association with Rolling Stone Productions).
Z Living acquires daytime talk show The Doctors
Health entertainment cable network Z Living has acquired 150 episodes of the Emmy Award-winning syndicated daytime talk show The Doctors.
The Doctors, which offers topical and practical health, wellness and lifestyle information, will premiere on Z Living with an Independence Day (July 4) marathon running from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Hosted by emergency room physician and best-selling author Dr. Travis Stork, along with co-hosts plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon, OB/GYN Dr. Nita Landry and dermatologist Dr. Sonia Batra, The Doctors examines real life stories and celebrity exclusives to provide sought after answers, interventions and care.
Blue Ant Int’l inks CEE deals
Blue Ant International, the distribution arm of Blue Ant Media, has sold more than 350 hours of content into Central and Eastern Europe.
Russia’s First HDTV has secured 135-plus hours from Blue Ant International’s catalog, including animal sanctuary series Kitty 911 (10 x 30 minutes), Hope For Wildlife (13 x 60 minutes), seasons 1 and 2 of Strange Creatures (13 x 30 minutes), seasons 1 and 2 of Wildlife Icons (14 x 60 minutes), and The Big Feed (13 x 30 minutes). First HDTV has also secured a lineup programming from the distributor’s factual entertainment slate, including Taste of the Country (13 x 30 minutes) and Wild Ride (16 x 30 minutes), as well as kids & family series Make it Big, Make it Small (14 x 11 minutes).
Polish broadcaster ITI Neovision S.A., meanwhile, has snapped up a 50-hour package deal of natural history programming for its channels Planete+ and CANAL+, including the multiple award-winning series Rooted (5 x 60 minutes), Africa’s Claws and Jaws (4 x 60 minutes), Over Australia (2 x 60 minutes), Untamed Valley (3 x 60 minutes), Life’s Journey (3 x 60 minutes), Arabian Inferno (5 x 60 minutes) and Macro Worlds (3 x 60 minutes).
Also in Poland, TVN has licensed over 30 hours of programming, including the Blue Ant Media-produced Crazy Beautiful Weddings (10 x 30 minutes), I’ve Got Something To Tell You (6 x 60 minutes), as well as two series exploring the technological and architectural growth in Asia: Boomtown Asia (8 x 30 minutes) and Man Made Marvels: Asia (6 x 60 minutes).
Elsewhere, FTV Prima in the Czech Republic has acquired 60-plus hours of content, including The Mind of Mark DeFriest (1 x 90 minutes), America Over the Edge (13 x 60 minutes), The Weapon Hunter seasons 1 and 2 (12 x 60 minutes), Africa’s Underwater Wonders (5 x 60 minutes), and Tales from Zambia (7 x 60 minutes).
For its Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic networks, AMC Networks International has picked up a 28-hour content package that includes Fish of the Day (10 x 30 minutes), What’s For Sale With a View? (26 x 30 minutes), Jago: A Life Underwater (1 x 60 minutes), as well as programming from Blink Films’ productions in Australia: Secret Life of the Kangaroo (3 x 60 minutes), Secret Life of the Koala (2 x 60 minutes), Secret Life of the Tasmanian Devil (2 x 60 minutes) and Secret Life of the Wombat (2 x 60 minutes).
Blue Ant International has also licensed a content package to Polsat Cafe in Poland and TV2 in Hungary. Polsat Cafe has opted for a 25-plus hour package that includes Candice Tells All season 6 (13 x 30 minutes); Post My Party (13 x 30 minutes); Holiday Makeover (6 x 30 minutes); Celebrity Legacies (6 x 30 minutes) and Celebrity Damage Control (8 x 60 minutes). Meanwhile, TV2 has selected a 25-hour programming package that includes Post My Party (13 x 30 minutes), Holiday Makeover (6 x 30 minutes) and Taste of the Country (13 x 30 minutes). The media company has also added Wheels That Fail (18 x 30 minutes) to its purchase.
Beaver TV in Russia has taken two lifestyle series from designer Sarah Richardson’s franchise, including Sarah Off the Grid (6 x 60 minutes) and Sarah’s Real Potential (14 x 30 minutes). Russia’s United Media, meanwhile, has purchased nature and wildlife titles Animal Empires (6 x 60 minutes), Camp Zambia’s The Big Dry (3 x 60 minutes), and Secret Life of the Koala (2 x 60 minutes).
In addition to these custom package sales, Travel and Adventure in Russia has snapped up Bad Trip (13 x 60 minutes); Russia’s National Sport Channel Match TV has opted for Goalie: Life and Death in the Crease (1 x 90 minutes); X-Weighted Families (26 x 30 minutes) has been purchased by WP in Poland; and Slovenia’s RTV has opted for The Secret History of Knitting (1 x 60 minutes).
