Viceland expands Benelux carriage deals

Vice Media’s youth-focused broadcast channel Viceland has expanded its footprint through two new carriage deals in the Benelux region.

The lifestyle and entertainment brand will now be available to more than two million households throughout the Netherlands following two deals with leading carriers in the region.

KPN (Channel 37) and T-Mobile (Channel 26) subscribers will be able to view Viceland’s range of original programming, beginning July 18. Titles on offer include the Ellen Page-fronted Gaycation (pictured) and Slutever with Karley Sciortino, as well as local productions such as Boxing ’82, about an authentic Rotterdam boxing school, and The Therapist, offering candid insight into the real person behind a famous persona.

Viceland originally launched across the Netherlands in 2017 via Ziggo (Channel 26), and is also available via Caiway (Channel 22).

The channel is also broadcast throughout the U.S., UK, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, Israel and Benelux, with programming blocks also available in Latin America, Spain and Portugal.

“Just a little over a year after our launch, these two new deals demonstrate our continued growth and development in region,” said Stefan Tieleman, GM of Viceland and Vice Studios for Benelux, in a statement. “Through our increased distribution on KPN and T-Mobile, almost all households in the Netherlands will now be able to enjoy our slate of international and ever-growing local productions, all offering Vice’s unique and unfiltered view on the world we live in today.”

Bessi will also join Newen Group’s executive board, which consists of Newen CEO Bibiane Godfroid; Telfrance CEO Guillaume de Menthon; Capa MD Guillaume Thouret; Anna Pugacewicz; Jérôme Pédron; and Gabrielle Badoy.
