Discovery’s DIY Network is prepping Boomtown Builder, an eight-part series following master craftsman Tim McClellan as he transforms old homes in Arizona’s iconic mining boomtowns.

Produced by Fields Entertainment, the series features McClellan as he draws his ideas for home renovations from the history of each property for clients in the former mining towns of Cottonwood and Jerome. While adding a dose of modernity to the house designs, McClellan also helps families preserve the original character of each space by repurposing materials unique to each home.

In the premiere episode, McClellan meets a couple from Jerome, Arizona, whose grocery market home is one of the oldest buildings in town.

Executive producers on the series are Simon Fields, Nathan Fields and Steve Zahren.

Boomtown Builder premieres Aug. 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on DIY.
