After selling out 236 shows on Broadway, Bruce Springsteen will be bringing his theater show to global streamer Netflix later this year.

Bruce Springsteen on Broadway will launch on December 15, the same night that the play of the same name wraps its run at Jujamcyn’s Walter Kerr Theatre. The show, which officially began its run on October 12 of last year, is comprised of solo acoustic performances and poignant stories adapted from his autobiography, Born to Run, as well as a guest appearance from wife and musical partner Patti Scialfa.

The Netflix film will be directed and coproduced by documentary maker and frequent Springsteen collaborator Thom Zimny (HBO’s Elvis Presley: The Searcher and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live in New York City), and produced by Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau, tour director George Travis, and Landau Management partner Barbara Carr — all of whom are also behind the Broadway production.

“We are thrilled to bring Bruce Springsteen — a master storyteller, humanitarian and voice of the everyman — to Netflix in this historic one man show,” said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, in a statement. “This groundbreaking experience defies the boundaries of theater, concerts and film and will give our global audience an intimate look at one of the biggest cultural icons of our time.”
