Paul Telegdy, president of NBC Entertainment’s alternative and reality group, is slated to provide a keynote address at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.
Telegdy will discuss the evolving television landscape, the current content arms race and its impact on creativity and storytelling on a global scale.
The speech, which is scheduled to take place on Aug. 24 at 10, will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.
As president for NBC Entertainment’s Alternative and Reality Group, Telegdy oversees the company’s unscripted slate, including The Voice, America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Little Big Shots, and Running Wild with Bear Grylls, as well as dance competition World of Dance – currently in production in Poland, Thailand and the Philippines – and The Titan Games.
In addition, Telegdy’s group includes oversight of Meredith Ahr‘s Universal Television Alternative Studio, which is quickly becoming a major supplier of hit franchises, including World of Dance, The Wall – currently airing in 22 countries – and Hollywood Game Night – which has been sold internationally in 17 countries.
Telegdy took on his elevated role in June 2016, with the official announcement coming from NBC just as the executive was taking part in a keynote interview at Realscreen West in Santa Monica, and accepting his induction into the Realscreen Awards Hall of Fame.
Prior to NBC, Telegdy served as EVP of sales, content and production at BBC Worldwide America in Los Angeles.
