Viacom-owned, youth-focused network MTV has commissioned The Real World creator Bunim/Murray Productions to produce a new docuseries with actress, singer and entrepreneur Lindsay Lohan.

Slated to premiere in 2019, Lohan Beach Club (working title) will follow the Parent Trap and Mean Girls actor as she looks to expand her business empire with the launch of Lohan Beach House, which features luxury spa amenities, a renowned restaurant and a transformative day and nightclub in Mykonos, Greece.

The series, which began filming this week, will feature Lohan and a team of handpicked brand ambassadors as they establish new friendships and alliances while striving to bring the luxurious club to life.

The opening of the Lohan Beach House will mark the star’s third business venture in the Greek Islands, and follows the launch of Lohan Nightclub in Athens, and the Lohan Beach House Rhodes in Rhodes.

The series, meanwhile, is Lohan’s second unscripted starring venture, following Lindsay, which was produced by Pilgrim Media Group and aired on OWN in 2014.

Lohan serves as executive producer alongside Bunim/Murray’s Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi, Farnaz Farjam Chazan and Andrea Metz. For MTV, Lily Neumeyer, Jessica Zalkind and Ben Hurvitz are executive producers.

Lohan Beach Club offers viewers VIP access to one of the most exclusive destinations in the world, and a behind the scenes look at how a young, successful entrepreneur runs her empire,” said Nina L. Diaz, president of programming and development for MTV, in a statement. “We are thrilled to have such a passionate and creative partner in Lindsay to help explore this intriguing culture, all through the eyes of her brand.”

In other news, MTV International has ordered The Royal World from Initial, a division of Endemol Shine Group.

The 6 x 60-minute format will invite viewers into the unfiltered lives of young royals and aristocrats from across the globe as they come together under one roof in the British countryside.

The series will explore the lives of the pedigreed and privileged, including the ups and downs of life as twenty-somethings finding their way in the world.

The cast will be announced at a later date, but will include a veritable melting pot of global aristocrats with ties to the U.S., UK, Russia, Austria, Nigeria, Ireland and more.

The Royal World is expected to premiere later this year in nearly 180 countries outside of the U.S.

Andrew Jackman serves as executive producer for Initial. Craig Orr and Iestyn Barker take EP credits for MTV International.

The series was commissioned by Kerry Taylor, EVP of youth and music and co-head of MTV International, and Craig Orr, VP of commissioning and development at MTV International.

This is a great example of the kind of young skewing, entertaining and insightful formats Catherine Lynch and I have been developing since we took the helm at Initial so we are delighted to be working with MTV on it.”
