Global streaming service Netflix has slated two new unscripted series that should serve as complimentary fare to its popular Chef’s Table, which has been renewed for a fifth season.

The upcoming series — Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat and The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell — are both in the culinary space and each will premiere in October. Netflix unveiled the news during its TCA presentation on Sunday (July 29), along with news concerning upcoming scripted projects.

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, based on the best-selling book by Samin Nosrat and directed by Caroline Suh, will follow Nosrat as she travels to various locales — including Italy, Japan and California — to uncover how the essential elements of good cooking can be incorporated into every dish. The four-part series is produced by Jigsaw Productions, and it launches on October 11.

Meanwhile, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell will bring viewers into the home and studio of the goth-inspired multi-hyphenate (artist/baker/photographer/author) as she transforms ingredients into strange confections. The series is produced by The Jim Henson Company and Wilshire Studios. No launch date has yet been revealed for the series.

The fifth season of Chef’s Table will follow four new international chefs at home, and will launch on September 28.
