Discovery’s Family Channel is prepping a culinary competition series featuring Buddy Valastro and his family.

Produced by Cakehouse Media, Bake It Like Buddy will feature some of America’s best baking families. Each week on the half-hour show, two talented baking clans will face-off against one another in a head-to-head bake-off at Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Throughout the 25-episode original series, Valastro and his family members will help the bakers with tips, real-time feedback and design assistance.

With help from his own family and the bakery’s staff, Valastro and two members of his team mentor and judge the visiting family’s creations, ranking based on design, flavor, technique, finish and how well the contestants followed a central theme, ranging from unicorns to Halloween. Only one team will win the US$1,000 cash prize, professional baking supplies and bragging rights.

Art Edwards and Buddy Valastro are executive producers for Cakehouse Media. Michela Giorelli is the executive producer for Discovery Family Channel.

Bake It Like Buddy premiers Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes. New episodes of the series will stream live on Discovery Family Go and will also be available on demand the following day.
