DMAX Germany, the Discovery Networks-owned men’s lifestyle channel, has commissioned an automotive event series from Munich’s Redseven Entertainment.

Devil’s Race will feature 15 teams – each with two drivers – competing to post the fastest race course lap times across five heats, in vehicles they have modified themselves on a fixed budget. Each driver will also have to avoid a variety of obstacles, including swinging wrecking balls and ski jumps, in order to set the top lap times.

The best teams will go on to the grand finale to determine the quickest racing team in Germany, while also receiving the top prize of a VIP weekend at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The six-episode series is hosted by German TV presenter and model Sophia Thomalla (pictured), alongside racing driver Johannes Stuck and commentator Ron Ringguth.

Devil’s Race premieres Sept. 11 on DMAX Germany, with new episodes airing every Tuesday.

“There is huge interest in motorsport in Germany, and the show’s combination of competitive driving under crazy conditions and the challenge of pimping the perfect car to win, makes for an exhilarating show,” said RedSeven Entertainment CEO Jobst Benthues in a statement.
