Endemol Shine UK-owned prodco Dragonfly has brought on Tom Currie as executive producer, starting in November.

Currie will report to creative director Richard Bond and will executive produce the company’s BAFTA-winning Ambulance, as part of an expanding documentary slate.

He most recently served as EP on the upcoming Channel 4 series Educating…, as series producer of the first two seasons of Hospital for BBC2, and as series director of the first season of The Real Marigold Hotel, also for BBC2.

Other credits include Sue Perkins and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and An Hour to Save Your Life for BBC2, Rookies for ITV1, and The Fulfords: Life is Toff and Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands for BBC3.

“Tom has a fantastic track record and brings such a distinctive tone to everything he does,” said Bond, in a statement. “His shows are both critically acclaimed and immensely popular so I’m thrilled he’s joining us as we continue to expand our factual slate.”

Founded in 2004, the award-winning, London-based Dragonfly produces factual television for myriad broadcasters in more than 130 countries worldwide. The prodco became part of the Shine Group in 2007 and, since 2014, is part of Endemol Shine Group.
