Sky and Edge make further investment in TRX

European media co Sky and UK creative industries specialist Edge Investments have both expanded their investment in TRX, the B2B online licensing platform for TV rights.

The investment round of £2.9 million (US$3.83 million), supported by existing private investors, brings the total funds raised by the digital making-tool to £14 million ($US18.51 million).

The latest round of investment will be used to further develop TRX’s technology and its global rollout.

The platform is currently used by 110 TV rights distributors, including BBC Studios, Sky Vision and Lionsgate, and more than 1,000 buyers.

Bravo’s Project Runway adds Karlie Kloss, Christian Siriano

Bravo Media has tapped Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano as the new host and mentor, respectively, of its fashion design competition series Project Runway.

Supermodel and entrepreneur Kloss (pictured) and former Project Runway champion and fashion designer Siriano step in after the departure of series mainstays Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn last month.

The series launched in 2004 and aired on Bravo until 2008 before moving to Lifetime in 2009. Original producers Magical Elves are returning for the rebooted series, which returns to Bravo in 2019. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz serve as executive producers for Magical Elves, and Andy Mitchell and Milos Brajovic serve as executive producers for Lantern Entertainment. Kloss will also serve as EP.

“These are the perfect faces for the new Project Runway, as we recalibrate for a new generation of fashion enthusiasts,” said EVP of current production at Bravo Shari Levine, in a statement. “They are entrepreneurs and trailblazers with tremendous reach inside and outside the fashion industry, and give Bravo and our producing partners, Magical Elves and Lantern Entertainment, the right fuel to re-energize the franchise.”
