Distributor and producer ITV Studios has launched a Dutch-based production label in a move to expand its international presence.

ITV Studios Netherlands will create and produce ITV’s portfolio of unscripted and scripted formats for Dutch platforms and broadcasters.

Heading the creative hub is television veteran Karin de Groot (pictured), who will act as managing director beginning in early 2019. De Groot joins ITV Studios Netherlands from Talpa Network where she currently serves as director of television.

De Groot’s previous stints include¬†CEO at Dutch prodco IdtV, head of production for Endemol Shine, and creative director at Dutch commercial television channel Net 5.

The new Dutch hub will form part of the Studios Global Creative Network, a net developed to execute the international exploitation of ITV Studios’ roster of non-scripted content, including its formats catalog, and the sharing of development and co-development for content opportunities.

ITV Studios Netherlands will sit under the Talpa Media banner, alongside Talpa Productions, Talpa Fiction, MasMedia and Vorst Media.

“We see huge potential in the strength of the ITV formats in the Dutch market,” said Maria Kyriacou, president ITV Studios International, in a statement. “ITV Studios Netherlands provides us with a team on the ground, solely focused on creating and producing ITV formats for a vibrant and ever-growing Dutch market.”

ITV Studios also has production offices in Australia, France, Germany, the Nordics and the UK, in addition to more than 50 labels around the world.
