Chrisley Knows Best producer Maverick TV USA has appointed former Lightbox Entertainment head of development Susannah Price as SVP of documentary programming and specials.

In the role, Price will oversee the newly established division focused on premium documentary and factual content for the All3Media America-owned company. The division will now sit alongside its factual, entertainment and reality programming lineup.

Based out of the company’s offices in Los Angeles, she reports to Maverick TV USA president John Hesling.

Previously, Price ran development for  Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinns Lightbox, joining in October 2013, where she built up the studio’s slate across a range of genres and platforms, and nurtured talent both in the UK and U.S.

At Lightbox, her development slate included National Geographic’s Emmy Award-winning LA92, Netflix’s Captive and Diagnosis, and ESPN’s Fantastic Lies. Further production credits include Michael Moore‘s Sicko, the eight-part BBC series Keeping Britain Alive, National Geographic’s premium documentary series One Strange Rock, and Simon Schama’s The American Future for BBC/PBS.

Price began her career in documentaries for the BBC, working for such indies as Brook Lapping, Wall to Wall, Mentorn and Oxford Film and Television.

“Susannah brings an enviable track record of finding incredible stories, characters and using innovative story-telling techniques to make must-see TV,” said Hesling in a statement. “Her expertise in developing large-scale factual programming and working with networks and platforms across the world will help the company expand.”

Maverick TV is headed by CEO Simon Knight and has offices in Los Angeles, London and Birmingham. The company is behind USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best, currently in its seventh season, and has three series currently in production, including HGTV’s Restoration Island, Food Network’s Kitchen Takeover and the recently announced Chrisley Knows Best spin-off, Growing Up Chrisley, for USA Network.
