British multi-channel network UKTV has commissioned Midnight Oil Pictures to produce the true crime series Detectives: My Killer Case for its free-to-air channel Really.
The 6 x 60-minute series will chronicle detectives as they provide firsthand accounts of their detailed work in solving some of their most memorable and notorious cases. The narrative of each episode will be helped along with police archive footage and expert evidence.
Midnight Oil’s Gillane Seaborne serves as executive producer on the series. It was commissioned by UKTV’s Natalie Rose, and ordered by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning, and Steve North, genre GM.
Detectives: My Killer Case will air on UKTV’s Really in 2019.
“The deeply personal testimony of these detectives, recounting some of the most pivotal cases of their careers, will be really affecting,” said Rose in a statement. “The familiarity of the cases will resonate with us, but the intricate detail, surprising twists and turns, and acute pressure to solve them under the watchful glare of the media, will offer compelling insight into what it really takes to lead a case, solve murder, and protect the public.”
