Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, has tapped Jose Lascurain Farell as its vice president of production, effective immediately.
Based out of Endemol Shine’s Los Angeles office, Lascurain (pictured) will oversee all unscripted production for Endemol Shine Boomdog across the U.S. and Mexico.
Lascurain most recently served as senior executive producer of current programming and specials at Univision Communications where he oversaw programming from telenovelas to specials for both Televisa in Mexico and Univision in the U.S. He also shepherded the production efforts on Univision holiday specials.
Joining Endemol Shine Boomdog marks a return to the company for Lascurain, who served as director, production and development for Endemol Shine Latino from 2012-2014.
Prior to joining Univision, Lascurain was VP of production for FremantleMedia Latin America. He also worked as a consultant in the music competition series X-Factor.
Lascurain has previously held production roles at Televisa, Blindspot Pictures, El Mall and Mediamates and Endemol Mexico.
Endemol Shine Boomdog was formed last year when Endemol Shine North America merged its Spanish language division Endemol Shine Latino with Mexico City-based produce Boomdog. The studio focuses on developing and producing scripted and unscripted content for the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican TV markets. Endemol Shine Boomdog now produces many series in the region, including MasterChef Mexico and MasterChef Latino.
“We are thrilled to have Jose returning to Endemol Shine, specifically our team here at Endemol Shine Boomdog, as we continue to grow our production efforts in both the U.S. and Mexico,” said Alejandro Rincon, CEO, Endemol Shine Boomdog, in a statement.
“I am very happy and grateful to return to the company where I started in the industry 15 years ago,” added Lascurain. “The business has changed and facing the new challenges with Endemol Shine Boomdog fills me with pride and motivation for the talent on the team and the projects that we have coming in the pipeline.”
