American cable network Smithsonian Channel will premiere the feature-length doc Bird Vs. Plane: Miracle on the Hudson as part of its January slate.
The film explores the impact of bird strikes in aviation and marks the 10th anniversary of US Airways Flight 1549′s landing in New York’s Hudson River (pictured), known as the “Miracle on the Hudson” and dramatized in 2016′s Sully.
Bird Vs. Plane: Miracle on the Hudson will air Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Other previously-announced, non-fiction Smithsonian programs premiering in the new year include Eight Days that Made Rome: Hannibal’s Last Stand and Disasters at Sea: Trapped in Typhoon Alley — both series premieres.
Eight Days that Made Rome premieres Jan 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, while Disasters at Sea debuts on Jan. 13 at 9 p.m ET/PT.
