UK pubcaster Channel 4 has brought on Kate Thomas as commissioning editor, daytime.

Thomas takes up the role in February 2019. She joins C4 from Welsh indie Boom where she served as creative director. Thomas looked after network commissions across genres, including factual for ITV and the BBC, kids for CITV and drama for Channel 5.

Prior to joining Boom, Thomas served as head of development at BBC. During her time at BBC Popular Factual (now Unscripted Productions), Thomas secured multiple commissions made out of BBC Bristol and BBC Wales. These included Wanted in Paradise and Antiques Roadshow Detectives for BBC2; and Glorious Gardens from Above and Fugitivesfor BBC1.

Thomas also developed returning series The People Remember, Countryfile Diaries and Street Auction for BBC1 daytime.
