UKTV preps Lazy Boy George for its Dave channel

British multichannel broadcaster UKTV has commissioned Lazy Boy Garage for its entertainment channel Dave.

Produced by October Films Lazy Boy Garage (10 x 30 minutes) follows three best friends who flip cars for profit at Roadhouse Motor Co. in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Dubbed ‘lazy boys’ because they don’t leave the garage, motoring journalist Jonny Smith, Top Gear Magazine editor Tom ‘Wookie’ Ford and garage owner Tim Glover track down classic car wrecks across the world to fix up and sell for fortunes to international buyers.

Complicated logistics, unreliable car quality and unexpected costs leave the team waiting to see if their buys are duds or gems.

Lazy Boy Garage has been ordered for Dave by UKTV director of commissioning, Richard Watsham and UKTV genre general manager Steve North. The series is commissioned by UKTV’s commissioning editor Joe McVey.

The series will premiere on Dave in February 2019 and will also be available on UKTV Play.
