Big Brother makes a comeback in Poland and Finland

Global producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group’s reality competition format Big Brother is returning to Poland and Finland following a years-long hiatus.

Polish broadcaster TVN has commissioned Endemol Shine Poland to produce the new series that will bow on TNV7 in Spring 2019. Big Brother first aired in Poland in 2001 before leaving airwaves in 2009.

Meanwhile, Finnish network Nelonen Media has ordered the series from Endemol Shine Finland. The format last aired in Finland five years ago with the new series launching on Jim and Ruutu in Autumn 2019.

This year marks two decades since Big Brother made its worldwide debut in the Netherlands. The format found success around the world with 28 productions airing across 21 territories in 2018.

Armoza’s The Four heads to Spain

Tel Aviv-based producer-distributor Armoza Formats’ prime time singing competition The Four has landed in Spain, with the local rights to the format being taken by Warner Bros. International TV Production Spain.

Developed and produced by Armoza Formats, The Four (pictured; 90 or 12o minutes) kicks off with four singers, selected by a panel of music industry judges. In every episode, the contestants battle talented newcomers trying to steal their seat. Anyone has the chance to participate by submission via the dedicated app, but only the top talent will be able to challenge the four. In the season finale, only one singer will be crowned the winner when the final four battle against one another.

The deal marks the latest sale for Armoza’s The Four, which has most recently been licensed to such countries as Brazil, Greece, Lithuania, India, and Portugal, among others.
