Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has partnered with social platform Facebook in the UK to launch the live and interactive quiz game show MTV Stax.

The free-to-play game will broadcast live across the Facebook Watch platform three times a week for 10 consecutive weeks.

Each episode of the quiz show will be hosted by a rotation of well-known MTV news presenters, including Tinea Taylor and Tyler West, and will feature a series of 10 pop culture-focused questions posed to players for the chance to win a share of a big cash prize.

MTV Stax launched yesterday (Feb. 18) via Facebook Watch.

MTV will be one of the first UK partners to utilize Facebook Watch’s new game show functionality, which the social platform developed as part of its live trivia game show Confetti, which launched in the UK in November.

“We know that there’s a great appetite at the moment for live interactive quiz shows and our fans are tapped into popular culture, so this feels like a very natural fit for MTV,” said Joanna Wells, VP of digital content, youth and entertainment, in a statement.

The roll out of MTV Stax forms part of VIMN’s short-form content distribution strategy on digital platforms and follows the recently announced greenlighting of four short-form digital originals, including Singled Out and Geordie Cribs. The four series are available digitally on Facebook Watch, YouTube and MTV’s international web and social platforms.
