True crime net Oxygen Media is prepping an investigative true crime series from executive producer Dick Wolf that will look at the dark world of contract killings.

Each standalone episode of Murder for Hire will feature a different case of undercover agents during a real-life sting and investigation operation as they attempt to catch the perpetrator and prevent a murder. The show explores how seemingly good relations can turn sour and the emotion surrounding an intended victim when they discover a hit has been taken on their life.

Murder for Hire debuts April 7 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Oxygen.

The series is produced by Wolf Reality, Shed Media, a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted & Alternative Television, and Green Lakes Production Dick Wolf, Tom Thayer, Pamela HealeyDan Peirson and Adam Kassen serving as executive producers.

“Some of the most horrifying crimes are crimes of passion and money, and we are the first to explore in depth the motives and tactics used in these ‘murders for hire,” Wolf said in a statement. “Viewers will be stunned when they understand the lengths to which aggrieved parties go to get revenge.”

Murder for Hire serves as Wolf’s third series produced for and commissioned by Oxygen, sitting alongside Cold Justice and Criminal Confessions.
