The Hills and Laguna Beach alumna Kristin Cavallari has been tapped to host the reboot of Fox’s early 2000′s unscripted dating competition series, Paradise Hotel, which debuts this May.
Paradise Hotel follows a group of singles who try to remain at an exclusive tropical resort for as long as possible by paring up. Each week, one single will have to leave the hotel to make space for a new guest. Updated for a modern era, viewers can play along at home via social media to influence who stays and who goes.
The refresh of the dating series was announced this past January and at the time did not have a host or premiere date attached to the project.
Paradise Hotel is produced by Mentorn Media and SallyAnn Salsano’s 495 Productions. Salsano, Celia Taylor, Becca Walker, Paul Osborne and James Sunderland serve as executive producers.
Cavallari is best known for appearing in the first season of MTV’s acclaimed reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills. Her unscripted career also includes being a contestant on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars. In 2016, Cavallari wrote a New York Times best-seller, Balancing In Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work. In July 2018, she returned to her reality TV roots with her docuseries, Very Cavallari, currently in its second season for E!.
The original inception of Paradise Hotel first aired on Fox in 2003 before going onto be produced in more than 18 countries.
The revived iteration of Paradise Hotel will debut with a two-hour premiere on May 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, and will air three nights a week in an “as it happens” format during its five-week run. Following the Thursday night premiere, the series will air on Mondays, starting May 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Wednesdays starting May 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and, with live elements, on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
