Juma Entertainment’s Lip Sync to the Rescue heads to CBS

CBS has ordered a one-hour interactive countdown entertainment special inspired by the recent viral trend #LipSyncChallenge.

Produced by Juma Entertainment, Lip Sync To The Rescue gives viewers the power to vote for their favorite video or performance featuring first responders as they lip-sync to a hit tune, with the winner announced live during the broadcast.

The #LipSyncChallenge was started as a fun way for law enforcement officials, the fire department and EMTs to engage with their communities by creating lip-sync music videos and challenging other departments to do the same.

Robert Horowitz, Lewis Fenton and Jane Mun serve as executive producers.

Lip Sync To The Rescue will air later this year on the CBS.

Endemol Shine Group picks up Japanese format The Rolling Kitchen

Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group has acquired the format rights for the Japanese culinary format The Rolling Kitchen (pictured) from Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation.

The new studio-based cooking series format sees couples separated from one another as they whip up individual dishes in separate kitchens. In a twist, every 10 minutes the kitchen rotates 180 degrees, forcing each contestant to take over their partner’s recipe from where they left it. The participants then must do their best to continue the dish prep and create the most delectable dish to win the prize.

Endemol Shine Group is the exclusive distributor of the format across all platforms outside of Japan, allowing local versions of the series to be made for global broadcasters.

Endemol Shine Group and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation will launch the format at MIPTV in Cannes this month.

CBS Reality announces two original true crime series

UK factual entertainment channel CBS Reality has commissioned two exclusive series, The Real Prime Suspect and The Profiler that will bow on the channel later this year.

The Real Prime Suspect is a 10-part series produced by Monster Films, led by Jackie Malton, the inspiration for the character of DCI Jane Tennison, played by Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect.

Malton will look back on 10 case files and revisit the investigations with law enforcement officials and other professionals who experienced them firsthand. Malton will guide the audience through every step of the case, from capturing the prime suspect, to gaining a conviction and providing closure.

The Real Prime Suspect will premiere on CBS Reality UK in the autumn and will be available on the network in Poland and Africa later this year.

Distributor Orange Smarty is an associate producer on the production, representing its first significant foray into an original commission. Additionally, the company has secured global rights to the series worldwide, excluding the UK, Africa and Poland.

Elsewhere, Poland’s top criminal profiler, Jan Gołębiowski, leads a forthcoming 10-part documentary series that examines the profession of a profiler, and the role their findings play in the judicial system.

Produced by Like Vision, each episode of Zawód: Profiler (The Profiler) will feature a different case, showing how crimes are often solved by starting at the end, with a variety of likely hypotheses. With each new fact or piece of evidence that comes to light, another incorrect theory or avenue is eliminated, until the profiler is able to reveal the perp and their motives.

This series is the first CBS Reality Original production to be exclusively based and produced in Poland, in the Polish language.

Zawód: Profiler will premiere on CBS Reality in Poland on June 3 at 10 p.m.
