UK indie Attaboy TV has secured its first commission with British pubcaster BBC for a documentary about last year’s Gatwick drone attack for the network’s current affairs strand ‘Panorama.’

The Gatwick Drone Attack (1 x 30 minutes) will investigate what happened during the attack which affected over 1,000 flights and hundreds of thousands of people. Industry insiders will shed light on what unfolded and provide a detailed account of the incident.

Reporter Justin Rowlatt (pictured) will delve into the dangers drones pose and if a drone attack like this could be stopped in the future and what the odds are of a more dangerous attack happening.

The program was commissioned by ‘Panorama’ editor Rachel Jupp, and is executive produced by Diana Martin for BBC and Andrew Shaw for Attaboy TV. It is produced by Sam Farmar.

Outside Britain, Silverlining Rights will handle pre-sales and distribution for an extended international version (Drones: Out of Control; 1 x 60 minutes) which will include international incidents.

The Gatwick Drone Attack premieres on BBC’s ‘Panorama’ on April 15.
