Tinopolis Group-owned Mentorn Media has expanded its senior team by naming Bernie Kay to the newly created role of head of factual.

In the post, Kay will boost the production company’s slate of talent-led projects, factual entertainment formats and documentaries. She reports directly to Mentorn Media’s managing director Celia Taylor

Prior to joining Mentorn, Kay was an executive producer at ITN Productions, where she shepherded the company’s move into daytime formats, celebrity travelogs and youth-led docuseries.

She won commissions and executive produced a portfolio of programs, including BBC1′s returning daytime format Going Back, Giving Back, BBC2′s travel series Frankie Goes to Russia and Channel 4′s Big Ben: World’s Most Famous Clock.

Before joining ITN Productions, Kay held a number of senior roles across some of the UK’s biggest production companies, including Endemol Shine and RDF Television.
