Lifestyle pay-TV network TLC in the UK has commissioned its first original-short form wedding series for video-streaming platform YouTube.

Each episode of the Studio71-produced Countdown To I Do (6 x 8 minutes) will provide intimate insight into the biggest day of each couple’s life, capturing the excitement, nerves, drama and humor of the wedding build up. as each episode starts just hours before the ceremony and finishes with “I do.”

Beginning hours prior to the ceremony, the series will be self-shot with handheld Sony RX100 cameras by the bride, groom, the bridal party and selected guests.

Countdown To I Do is scheduled to premiere on TLC UK’s YouTube channel in Q4 2019.

Studio71′s Jody Smith and Tom Payne serve as executive producers alongside TLC’s Deirdre Dowling. The short-form series was commissioned by TLC’s Charlotte Reid.

“We’re using a discreet production unit to capture honest and open stories from a number of perspectives on the nerve-racking build-up to the ceremony,” said Studio71 UK creative director Jody Smith in a statement. “The hand of the producer will be absent from these honest, moving, funny and sometimes calamitous stories.”
