British commercial broadcaster UKTV’s entertainment channel W has commissioned a factual entertainment series from London-based Swan Films that features celebrities as they take on the challenge of modern day parenting.

My Famous Babysitter (4 x 60 minutes) sees famous faces like Rachel Riley (pictured), take on the full responsibility for a family of children over the course of four days. The collision of the celebs high profile lives with the harsh reality of managing budgets, supervising homework, after-school clubs and domestic life in Britain will provide humorous moments and reflections from the celebrities on their life and own youth.

The series is executive produced for Swan Films by Neil Crombie and Joe Evans.

My Famous Babysitter was commissioned for UKTV by commissioning editor Kirsty Hanson with Hilary Rosen, head of factual and fact-ent. The series was ordered by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning, and Steve North, genre GM for comedy and entertainment.

My Famous Babysitter is an entertaining but revealing glimpse into the universal struggle that many of our viewers face daily; how we parent today as well as juggling everything else that modern life demands of us,” said Hanson in a statement. “This, juxtaposed with the tantalizing prospect of learning something we don’t know about some of our favorite faces, will hopefully make for an absorbing series for our viewers and a worthwhile experience for the celebs.”

Additional details about the series will be announced in the coming weeks.

My Famous Babysitter bows on UKTV’s W later this year.
