One Hour That Changed the World sells internationally

London-based sales house Passion Distribution has closed a raft of international sales for Pioneer Productions’ One Hour That Changed the World: The Moon Landing (pictured).

The hour-long doc special has been acquired by UKTV in the UK for its Eden channel, Ten in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand, CBC in Canada, Phoenix TV in China, Hong Kong and South East Asia and Channel 8 in Israel.

One Hour That Changed the World: The Moon Landing celebrates the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 mission by exploring the various systems failures and accidents that could have derailed the first-ever moon landing through archive footage, testimony from an eyewitness in mission control on the day, and expert analysis.

The film was commissioned and funded by Passion Distribution.

Endemol Shine Group’s Best.Cover.Ever lands in Brazil

Endemol Shine Brasil has partnered with Brazil’s largest music festival, VillaMix, and brewing company Ambev to launch a branded localized version of entertainment format Best.Cover.Ever.

Locally titled O Próximo Número 1 VillaMix, the six-episode series serves as “a celebration of sertanejo music” that sees ordinary contestants perform alongside sertanejo music icon Luan Santana at the VillaMix festival in Brazil. The winner will sign a contract with Brazil’s largest artist management company of sertanejo music, AudioMix.

Series judges include music artists Santana, Jorge & Mateus, Xand Avião, Bruno & Marrone, and Marcos Araújo of AudioMix.

The brand-funded project was secured in partnership with Google, AudioMix and Africa Agency.

Banijay Finland goes back to school with Big Class Reunion

Banijay Finland, a Banijay Group company, is to produce a local adaptation of Big Class Reunion for MTV3.

The entertainment series will feature well-known Finnish actors, musicians, athletes and entertainment stars alongside their childhood friends as they share anecdotes and embarrassing moments from their school experiences.

The famous faces will then be forced to re-take school tests to determine who can remember correct math formulas, proper grammar rule or accurate historical figures to be crowned the champions.

The series is expected to air this fall on MTV3 in Finland and will be hosted by Marja Hintikka.
