The latest edition of Jimmy Fox‘s Unscripted and Unprepared podcast, in partnership with Realscreen, features Adam DiVello, founder and executive producer at Done and Done Productions.

In the new episode, DiVello sits down with Main Event Media’s Fox to offer up candid insight into the creation of one of MTV’s most successful reality franchises of all-time, The Hills, and deconstructs Done and Done Productions recent unscripted projects in CMT’s Music City and Netflix’s Selling Sunset.

DiVello was serving as a senior production and development executive at Viacom’s youth-skewing brand MTV when he developed such unscripted hits as Room Raiders, Made and TRL. In 2004, he moved to the sunny shores of Southern California to develop and executive produce the landmark reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which prompted DiVello to depart from the network in 2007, to launch his own production house in Done and Done Productions. Under the banner, DiVello would create and run MTV’s successful reality series The Hills.

In 2015, Done and Done Productions signed a multi-year, overall deal with Lionsgate to develop and produce unscripted programming. Stemming from this partnership was CMT’s Music City, the reality version of ABC’s drama Nashville. More recently, the prodco has produced the 8 x 60-minute Selling Sunset for Netflix, which focuses on the lives and careers of six real estate agents working at one of the top agencies in Los Angeles. The company has also developed projects for such networks as E!, Bravo Media, USA Network, Lifetime and TNT.

Past episodes of Unscripted and Unprepared, a series of conversations with the most influential players in the unscripted television industry, have featured Arthur SmithBrent Montgomery, Nancy Glass, Jonathan Murray, Cori Abraham, Thom Beers, World of Wonder’s Fenton Bailey, Epix’s Rachel Brill, History’s Eli Lehrer, Propagate Content’s Ben Silverman, ID’s Jane Latman, TLC’s Jason Sarlanis, ITV America’s David Eilenberg, and Showtime’s Vinnie Malhotra, among many others.

Fox’s production credits with Main Event Media include CNN’s United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell and Amazon’s Inside Jokes.
