Discovery-owned home improvement channel HGTV has begun production on its latest home renovation competition series, Rock the Block.

Produced by Big Table Media, the do-it-yourself competition series will feature four of HGTV’s experts in a renovation battle royale over a four-week period and a budget of US$175,000 each.

Hosted by Property Brothers star and real estate expert Drew Scott, Rock the Block will pit Leanne Ford (Restored by the Fords), Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones), Jasmine Roth (Hidden Potential) and Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) in a design showdown as they transform identical properties into the “ultimate suburban oasis.”

The winning HGTV star who adds the most value to her home will gain the satisfaction of beating out the best in the business.

Filming has begun in the Los Angeles area.

Big Table’s Geoff DavisWendi Fontes and Ian Mallahan serve as executive producers.

Rock the Block is scheduled to premiere in fall 2019.
