U.S. premium cable net HBO is set to premiere a new documentary about skiing world champion Lindsey Vonn in November.

Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season follows Vonn (pictured) and traces the story of her life and career, from her childhood in Minnesota to the World Championships in Sweden last February, where she took home the bronze medal in her final event.

Outdoor action, adventure and exploration doc prodco Teton Gravity Research embedded cameras and microphones with Vonn throughout her final stops on the 2018-19 World Cup Circuit, offering intimate access to the athlete during a critical time.

The film is an HBO Sports presentation of a film by Teton Gravity Research. Directors Todd Jones and Steve Jones serve as producers, alongside Brett Hills and Drew Holt. Executive producers for HBO are Peter Nelson and Rick Bernstein. Bentley Weiner and Jonathan Crystal serve as senior coordinating producers. Actor Liev Schreiber narrates.

“Lindsey Vonn is a global icon of transformative force,” said Nelson in a statement. “No skier, woman or man, has ever exerted her influence in sport and culture — ever transcended to her stature. There are a lot of athlete documentaries today, but this film, at once heartbreaking and inspiring, takes us places unseen with an elite athlete like Lindsey, revealing the sacrifice demanded of a champion confronting her human limits to end an unparalleled career.”

“Working with Peter Nelson, Rick Bernstein and the HBO Sports team has been a longtime goal of Teton Gravity Research,” added Steve and Todd Jones. “This opportunity was made even more special by the cooperation and collaboration afforded to TGR by Lindsey and her team during what continued to become a complex and incredibly important year in her life and career. The unprecedented access that we were given absolutely has made this film what it is. During our time with Lindsey and the piece, this became something much larger than a chase for a record. The film reveals her sacrifices, her unrivaled commitment to success, and the personal highs and lows associated with her level of talent and drive.”

Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season premieres Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. It will also be available on HBO on Demand, HBO Now, HBO Go and partners’ streaming platforms.
