RGTV to distribute Very Scary People worldwide

Los Angeles-based Rive Gauche Television (RGTV) has secured international distribution rights to the CNN-owned HLN true crime series Very Scary People.

The 12 x 120-minute series chronicles the lives of real-world monsters from recent history, exploring their crimes and eventual road to justice.

Criminals profiled include John Wayne Gacy, Charles Manson, the NorCal Rapist, Aileen Wuornos, the Zodiac Killer and Jim Jones.

Nancy Duffy, VP of program development for CNN, serves as executive producer, and actor and New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg serves as host.

Love Nature sends 4K content to Asia

Blue Ant Media-owned wildlife channel Love Nature is sending its content to five new platforms across Asia in territories including Vietnam, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The deals will see Love Nature programs heading to three platforms in Vietnam, rolling out throughout August and September: Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), Viettel and VNPT Media.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s nowTV will add Love Nature 4K content to its VOD platform in July.

And finally, Love Nature 4K is now available on streaming platform Vidio in Indonesia, under its basic “Premier” package.

Programming includes Orangutan Jungle School (pictured), Dogs with Extraordinary Jobs, Big Cat Country, Wild Rockies and Turtle Beach.

National Reality TV Awards name 2019 nominees

Docuseries Our Planet, reality competition show The Heist and prodco Twenty Twenty are just a few of the nominees unveiled ahead of the ninth annual National Reality TV Awards.

More than 5.3 million submissions were sent in for the 2019 show, to be held Sept. 30 at the Porchester Hall in London. The public will decide winners in each of the 22 categories, which include Best Entertainment Show, Best Female Personality, Most Inspiring TV Show and Best TV Chef, among others.

Nominees in the Best Docuseries category include: Our PlanetGoggleboxWar on Plastic with Hugh and Anita, Posh Pawn, Supercar, Superfam, Chasing the Moon, Equator from the AirGhosts of the Deep: Ancient Shipwrecks Inside the Ritz HotelThe Shocking Truth about Food, DynastiesSunderland ‘Till I Die and Inside.

Best Reality Competition Show nominees are: Dancing on IceStrictly Come Dancing, Love IslandAll Together NowThe ChaseThe CircleHuntedThe Greatest DancerLego MastersRace Across the WorldThe X Factor, Britain’s Got TalentThe Voice UKYou vs. Chris and KemShipwrecked and The Heist.

Nominees in the Best Production Company category include: Elephant House Studios, Lime Pictures, Studio Lambert, Twofour, Twenty Twenty, Wall to Wall Media, Endemol Shine UK, Monkey, Fremantle Media and GroupM Entertainment.
