British Royal Family-focused SVOD True Royalty TV has commissioned a new documentary film about Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and her wide-reaching popularity and global influence and power.
Meghan for President? will zero in on the three issues that Markle (pictured) has been passionate and outspoken about for years: gender equality, racial equality and improving the plight of those most in need. It will include rare footage of a 10-year-old Markle at an anti-war protest and of her at university, along with new interviews with one of her sorority sisters and her primary school teacher.
The film will feature interviews with celebrities, media and Royal experts, offering behind-the-scenes insights and context around the American actress-turned-Royal’s new life and role as well as around the rumors she may be eyeing a run for office.
“Not since the days of Diana, Princess of Wales has the world been so interested in a new member of the Royal Family,” said Bullen, co-founder of True Royalty TV, in a statement.
“There’s absolutely no doubt that Meghan has the power to influence social and economic change and policy. By virtue of her global fame, as well as now being a member of the Royal Family, the sky is really the limit for what Meghan can do and accomplish. She has the potential to have a positive influence around the world. She is ‘a force for change’ and in this documentary we’ll consider just how she’ll do that.”
Meghan for President? is due to premiere on True Royalty TV in the fourth quarter of 2019. The streamer is currently available in the U.S., the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
