ZED unveils natural history slate set for Jackson Wild

Paris-based indie factual distributor and prodco ZED has revealed the titles it will be showcasing at the 2019 edition of Jackson Wild nature conservation media summit.

The line-up includes Together, Kalahari’s Secret Alliances, directed by Pierre Stine in collaboration with Patrick Morris, available as a 90-minute film designed for France 2, a 52-minute version and a 2 x 52-minute mini-series, scheduled for summer 2021; The Frozen Kingdom of the Snow Leopard, directed by Frédéric Larrey and to be delivered in January, which has already been pre-sold to France Télévisions, The Smithsonian Channel, National Geographic Wild and NDR; and Wild Treasures of China (pictured), a four-part series co-produced with CCTV9.

ZED will also showcase Genius Sea Hunters, directed by Jérôme Julienne and John Jackson, a 3 x 52-minute series co-produced with ARTE G.E.I.E. and due for completion in March, along with Super Genius Sea Hunters, a 52-minute special due in spring.

Jackson Wild takes place Sept. 21-27 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Endemol sends Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to Brazil

Global prodco and distributor Endemol Shine Group as secured a commission for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Brazil.

Globosat’s GNT will produce a local primetime run of the series, which will see communities working together to help a family that’s down on their luck. Extreme Makeover Brazil will be presented by Otaviano Costa.

The deal was struck with Endemol Shine Brazil.

The series is set to air next year.

ZDF goes for more of Prime Docs

German pubcaster ZDF has acquired a package of documentaries from French prodco and distributor Prime Entertainment Group.

Included in the acquisitions are True Story of Angelina Jolie (1 x 52 minutes), Love and Sex in North Africa (1 x 60 minutes) and a renewed license for The True story of Madonna (1 x 52 minutes).

The docs will air on ZDFinfo, though no premiere dates have yet been set.
