German content production business Redseven Entertainment – a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Arrow Studios – has expanded its production capabilities across the German region.

The company has launched a new office in Berlin that will be focused on developing and producing a range of content, with a focus on first-rate television and digital content. Redseven currently has hubs in Munich and Cologne.

Former ProSieben executive Benedikt Nordmann has been tapped as executive producer in charge and will be responsible for leading the office in Germany’s capital.

Most recently, Nordmann served as head of comedy and light entertainment, and executive producer at German broadcaster ProSieben where he oversaw such series as Late Night Berlin and Jerks.

One of Redseven Berlin’s first projects is to produce the International Music Awards (IMA), which honors artists who promote awareness of issues such as diversity, democracy and sustainability. The inaugural awards ceremony will take place on Nov. 22.

“Opening an office in Berlin gives us access to new ideas and networks within the Berlin creative scene, and enables us to establish ourselves there as key partner for video content,” said Redseven Entertainment CEO Jobst Benthues (pictured), in a statement. “We’ll also be well positioned in terms of our flexibility and breadth – including more physical space, but also the range of content we will be able to produce, including ambitious entertainment, docutainment and factual content, as well as digital content and expanding our corporate TV activities.

“We are delighted that Benedikt Nordmann is taking over the management of the office. He brings a wealth of experience in the development and production of content, and is a great addition to the Redseven team.”

The move follows news earlier this month that Red Arrow Entertainment Group’s parent company, Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1, has appointed multinational investment bank Morgan Stanley to oversee a strategic review of Red Arrow Studios that would explore a sale or an industry partnership for the global production and distribution outfit.
