Viacom-owned MTV UK and American apparel company Timberland have partnered to create the ad-funded documentary Timberland presents Nature Needs Heroes with Loyle Carner (working title), to be produced by UK indie Rumpus Media.

The 2 x 30-minute documentary aligns with Timberland’s “Nature Needs Heroes” global ad campaign.

English musician Carner will return to his hometown of Croydon, England to explore the concept of ‘urban greening.” He will visit a number of different sites and speak to experts, highlighting the importance of green spaces for local communities and the environment.

Filming will begin this October, with the documentary slated to air later this year. In addition to the linear show, content will be distributed across VOD, digital and social.

The first episode will also be available to view on MTV’s YouTube channel for a limited time.

Timberland presents Nature Needs Heroes with Loyle Carner (w/t) was commissioned by Jeremy Davies, director of music, commissioning and development for MTV UK. The documentary will be executive produced by Morgan Roberts and directed by Paula Haydock for Rumpus Media.

The documentary has been created in partnership with MTV and DRUM (Omnicom Media Group UK’s specialist creative content agency), alongside Kinc and Rumpus.
