The Wall returning to BBC1

BBC1 has commissioned a second season of The Wall, produced by Endemol Shine UK-owned Remarkable Television.

Hosted by EastEnders star Danny Dyer (pictured) and voiced by television presenter Angela Rippon, the game show was first commissioned by BBC1 in May 2019.

Due to return to the pubcaster in 2020, The Wall has been re-commissioned by Charlotte Moore, director of BBC Content, and Kate Phillips, controller, entertainment.

Rachel Ashdow is the commissioning editor for the BBC. The executive producer for Remarkable is Richard Hague. Stephen Lovelock serves as series producer.

The format first aired in the U.S. in 2016, on NBC, and is still airing there, as well as in 28 other territories.

GRB Studios sells content into Africa

Global producer-distributor GRB Studios has secured a number of factual deals in Africa.

A&E picked up several seasons of the murder mystery series On the Case for the region, while Canal+ took the celebrity-focused Stalker Files, which explores celebrity stalking cases, for French-speaking Africa.

CBS Chellozone acquired the competition series Auction Kings (S1-3, special) for Africa and the Middle East; Blackstar TV (African Business Channel) took Living by Design, in which brother and sister duo Jake and Jazz Smollett team up to transform the living, work, and play spaces of millennial families.

My Channel renewed two factual series: My First Home, which follows couples as they experience the trials and tribulations of owning their first home; and Wildlife Docs, a wildlife adventure following veterinarians who save exotic wild animals.
