Corus Studios-owned culinary cable net Food Network Canada is set to launch a new culinary competition series, testing the skills of amateur chefs.

Wall of Chefs (10 x 60 minutes) sees four home cooks battling in a state-of-the-art kitchen, all while being watched and judged by “The Wall,” a revolving panel of 12 notable Canadian chefs.

Each episode sees the competitors battle their way through three rounds, culminating with the selection of a winner, awarding a CA$10,000 (US$7,565) prize.

Wall of Chefs is produced by Insight Productions in association with Corus Studios for Food Network Canada. John Brunton, Mark Lysakowski and Eric Abboud serve as executive producers, with Erica Lenczner as series producer. For Corus Studios and Food Network Canada, Marni Goldman is production executive for original lifestyle programming, Krista Look is director of original lifestyle content, and Lisa Godfrey is VP of original content for Corus Entertainment.

“We are thrilled to have Wall of Chefs join our growing Corus Studios catalog as an original format that challenges home cooks to impress their favorite celebrity chefs. We believe this new series will garner mass appeal on an international scale,” said Godfrey in a statement. “Wall of Chefs marks the first time that the country’s biggest culinary leaders will be featured in one colossal series for the network and we can’t wait for audiences to get a taste of this high-caliber competition.”

Wall of Chefs premieres Feb. 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network Canada.
