Best-selling author and RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews will host the upcoming 2020 Realscreen Awards, set for January 28 in New Orleans.

Making his television debut as a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Mathews is currently entertaining audiences as a judge on VH1′s critically acclaimed RuPaul’s Drag Race, which, in 2019, received a whopping 14 Emmy nominations.

Other recent television credits include competing on CBS’s Celebrity Big Brother, in which he came in second place and was voted “America’s Favorite House Guest” by viewers. He was also the host of E!’s Hello Ross, providing his own perspective on Hollywood news.

As an author, Mathews is following up his national best seller, Man-Up: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence, with Name Drop, set for release on February 4, 2020. The new book will feature celebrity stories that the author usually saves for Happy Hour, with each chapter paired with his own recipes and cocktails.

Beyond television and the written word, Mathews also hosts a podcast, Straight Talk with Ross Mathews, which, since 2014, has featured his hilarious takes on celebrity and entertainment news, as well as interviews with such special guests as Kristin Bell and Tracee Ellis Ross.

And as if that all wasn’t enough, in September of 2018, Mathews launched “Ross Mathews’ Dragtastic Bubbly Brunch,” a weekly brunch event in Los Angeles, specially curated and featuring top Drag Queens from Drag Race, and sometimes a special appearance by Ross himself. Since then the brunches have traveled across 12 cities in the United States including Chicago, New York, Seattle and Columbus, Ohio to name a few.

The Realscreen Awards is a global celebration of non-fiction and unscripted content excellence, taking place during the upcoming Realscreen Summit in New Orleans. Nominees for the upcoming edition can be seen here.
