After six years, James Yee has resigned from his post as executive director of the Independent Television Service (ITVS). Yee gave health reasons for his departure from the U.S. entity. Judy Tam, director of finance and operations, will become acting executive director
The advisory chair of the Edinburgh International Television Festival for 2001 has been named to Jeremy Gibson, BBC controller of documentaries and investigations. In this capacity, he will helm the festival’s editorial direction. Gibson succeeds Dawn Airey, the new chief executive of Channel 5. Airy replaces David Elstein in the post, but retains her role as director of programs. Nick Milligan, previously director of sales for Channel 5, was also promoted to deputy chief executive
Helen Thwaites has been appointed the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s head of acquisition business management. In this role, Thwaites will negotiate and contract all content acquired by ABC TV, radio, new media and for ABC Enterprises. Anne McGrath, formerly senior sales executive at RM Associates, also joins ABC as sales manager, Europe. McGrath will work out of the ABC London office
