TBS' executive exodus continues...

Tom Johnson, chairman and CEO of CNN News Group announced his retirement from the network. He will continue to advise Jamie Kellner, Turner Broadcasting System’s chairman and CEO. Kellner will take charge of CNN’s top executives: Phil Kent (president and COO of CNN News Group) and Eason Jordan (chief news executive and news gathering president of CNN News Group). Johnson is the fourth senior TBS exec to quit since AOL completed its takeover of Time Warner in February.

CNN has appointed Jaime FlorCruz Beijing bureau chief. He replaces Rebecca MacKinnon, who has moved into a new role as CNN’s Tokyo bureau chief, a position formerly held by Marina Kamimura.

Shirley Powell, head of publicity for NBC Entertainment, will leave the network at the end of July for a position at Turner Broadcasting, as senior VP of publicity at Turner Entertainment Networks.

Turner Broadcasting Latin America has upped Caroline Rittenberry to VP of communications from communications director.

Christina Jutterstrom, top newspaper editor for Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter, was appointed CEO of Swedish pubcaster SVT, replacing Maria Curman.

Deputy chairman Aat Schouwenaar will take on most of the management tasks at Endemol Entertainment, in order to allow chairman John de Mol to focus on the development of program formats and other content.

Lauren Zalaznick, senior VP of original programming and production at VH1, has left the company. Zalaznick was passed over for the company’s top programming job after Jeff Gaspin resigned four months ago. She will be replaced by Steven Tao, who formerly oversaw production at New Line Cinema.

New Line Cinema promoted Randi Goodman from director to VP, domestic licensing and merchandising.

Tom Russo, former senior VP of longform programming, has been named senior VP of current programs for Paramount Network Television.

The Weather Channel Networks announced four appointments: Alex Kaminsky, former VP of marketing for was promoted to VP of integrated marketing; Daryn Pustilnik, former director of affiliate marketing for TWC was promoted to director of integrated marketing; Libby Goldschmid, former director of consumer marketing is now director of affiliate marketing; and Angela Fischer was promoted to senior manager of online/wireless PR and new product marketing, after being PR manager for

Ira Bernstein, former president and principal owner of Mercury Entertainment, has joined Lions Gate as president of the TV distribution arm. He will oversee worldwide sales of the company’s TV product, reporting to Jon Feltheimer.

Tele-Cine has reorganized its post production department to accommodate increased collaboration with sister company, Todd-AO. Todd-AO management team members Matt Bowman and Sam Webb will now work jointly with Tele-Cine. Jill Jones of 4MC will become head of sales at the Charlotte Street facility.

Johanne St-Arnauld has been named acting executive director of Telefilm Canada, replacing Francois Macerola, whose term recently ended.

The National Network (TNN) in New York has appointed Theresa Gamba (former branding consultant) to VP of marketing. Tina Potter (also former branding consultant) has been named VP of the brand central creative group.
