Television New Zealand is shaking things up in advance of a public broadcasting charter. Channels TV1 and TV2 will operate under one boss, with TV1 manager Shaun Brown heading up both channels. TV2 boss Stephen Smith moves to the online arm, NZoom, and will take charge of future digital channels. James Munro, TV New Zealand's digital strategy head, is leaving. Marketing manager Simon Dunlop's position will be phased out, and the marketing staff will be deployed to other departments. Network operations head Alan Brookbanks will be leaving and sales manager Jeff Latch has resigned. Chief executive Rick Ellis will leave before next June and more layoffs are expected.
