Magical Elves Productions

Los Angeles

The most popular Global 100 production of the year – right behind the unstoppable An Inconvenient Truth – was Magical Elves’ Project Runway. No other series struck a chord with so many readers around the world. Comments about the show ranged from ‘endlessly entertaining,’ to ‘I’m hooked. Great premise. Outstanding reality casting.’

Magical Elves sprang into existence in 2001, the brainchild of Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz. Observes Cutforth of their success: ‘TV is a collaborative medium and you can’t have a successful company without great people - great producers, editors, shooters and production management. Finding and keeping those people is key, and then it’s hopefully an upward spiral: if you have good people you make good shows, if you have good shows, you attract good people.’ And it’s a spiral that shows every suggestion of continuing for this prodco.
